I guess I am a rubato artist...is that good or bad?

Summer 2012 - Portugal

Review:

It's been said, Ana doesn’t sound like most singers: she is a rubato artist, a re-inventor of phrasings, a taker of chances.  The truth is that in the heat of a delivery, the loss of a correct word or note is easily  replaced with a wrong one. This very same wrong note can be heard differently as it is delivered out of invention and not out of fear.

Her two overriding characteristics are willingness to take on new material and independence; whenever possible, to shake up conventional vocal wisdom.  In all, she can take a piece of music apart and free herself from the general body of practice.

Albeit auto didactic, this songstress continues to measure and manipulate magical musical notes.

  1. That's an excellent review. Your talent comes naturally. You're not afraid to take on traditional music and are more than capable of interpreting it in your unique way.
