This is the unofficial shout out and SAVE THE DATE to a beyond memorable evening on August 3rd at
4800 Palm Avenue, Hialeah, Florida at 7 pm!
Lite fare, cocktails, admission and parking are complimentary!
 
 
 
The city of Hialeah and Milander Center for Arts & Entertainment will showcase a colossal collective art exhibition inspired by the cockerel waltz of the hackle tailed and saddled feathered rooster, "Rooster, Gallo, Galo, Gallus"

 Es un sultán de plumas tornasoladas y corona vibrante.

Como amo de un harén de gallinas, presume su gallardía ante las hembras y arrojo ante los intrusos. Resguarda su propiedad con pico y espuelas, armas que utiliza cuando el influjo de su orgullo es insuficiente. Aunque su canto mañanero lance un desafío territorial, para nosotros es el alegre anuncio del amanecer.

Tal como una melodía conocida recuerda lugares y sucesos, el cantío de un gallo evoca el aroma a hierba sin pisar y aire húmedo del campo. Traslada la sensación de un hilo de luz dorada que a través de las hendijas juguetea con nuestros ojos aún cerrados, despertando la esperanza de un nuevo día.

La danza mortal de sus riñas son un espectáculo de movimientos y colores a los que pocos se resisten; carne de apuestas por un lado, y controversias éticas por el otro, pero también un motivo recurrente para artistas.

El gallo reaparece en el lienzo interpretado de diversas formas, pero más allá de exhibir su belleza, provoca la ternura de quienes reconocen su debilidad. Por ello también representa a quienes ostentan sus logros sin ser conscientes de la vanidad de sus actos, hasta que  un “periquito con agallas“ le increpe; “Cuidadito compay gallo“.

Bienvenidos a este nuevo encuentro en el Milander Center of Arts y disfrutemos juntos de esta muestra galliforme.

Pero nada de machismos que aunque el gallo sea gallo, la gallina sigue siendo quien pone los huevos.

 South Florida Mangrove Trees  in "Silent Sentinels of Biscayne Park"
This current exhibit is part of the community artists program that serves as an outlet for the works of artists who have been inspired by the beauty of the park.

This dynamic group of artists will arrive at Milander with a Pop up Gallery making affordable extraordinary fine art available for sale; this pop up fund raiser is served with  love  & gratitude for the life and courage of their dear friend Teice Madera and family!

On August 3rd, we celebrate Teice's life! With a broken heart we said our last goodbyes a couple of weeks ago; she was so looking forward to this event. I am certain she will be there in spirit and in our hearts.
 
I cant begin to imagine a better way to embrace art, mingle, pay homage and share time and treasure!
Teice the warrior Rest in Peace! We know you will be there with us!

Approaching fast Alboroto Y Calma, a collective art exhibition with a twist of fire and ice.  Join us  this June 15th at 7 p.m.  The marquis is replete with stellar artists sharing some kind of calm or big time frenzy. 

In addition, join the artistic movement in support of  Art is Our Weapon! Meet the 19 artists that stand for peaceful resolutions through their body of visual Art. Enjoy an evening bedazzled with all sorts of visual stimulation!
